1. INTRODUCTION
a) To John’s Gospel – mission (Jn 20:31); method (Jn 20:30; Jn 21:25)
b) To John’s prologue – “If Jesus be God and died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for Him” (C.T. Studd)
2. THE WORD
a) Deity (v1-4) – His eternity, distinctiveness, creation, life.
b) Humanity (v14) – The Word became flesh, dwelt, observed “We have seen….”
3. THE WITNESS
a) Identity (v6) – John the man, the witness, the servant and the served.
b) Supremacy (v15) – He must increase, I must decrease. “..that in everything, He might have the supremacy.” (Col 1:18)
4. THE WORLD
a) Rejection (v10-11) – Before and after Bethlehem (See 2 Cor 4:4)
b) Regeneration (v12-13)
